    - THE MANAGEMENT

NEW YEAR, NEW EVERYTHING | 01032011

So I started off the new year with 3 things. 3 basic principles that're gonna shape the rest of the year for me. 3 resolutions:

    1. No more compromise with things that don't make sense.
Simply put, if it isn't fun, if it doesn't improve lives, if it doesn't benefit anyone, if it doesn't work, if it's more trouble than it's worth, then it gets dropped.

    2. Keep everything in the light.
Everything that I'll be doing, saying, and thinking will be brought under harsh light. Nothing in secret, no more scheming, no more double- or triple- planning. What is, is and what's not, isn't.

    3. Fall in love instead of play the game.
I think that that's self-explanatory. No more loose change.

The Spaces we find Ourselves In | 12092010

The other day I was cleaning out my hard drives at home and I ran into a problem: I didn't want to throw away any of the other songs I wrote for CITY LIGHT SOUNDTRACK. There were about sixteen I really wanted to keep and about 5 or 6 I really want to release. I can't remember why they never made it to the album, maybe some never even made it out of my room, but nevertheless, I'm doing 'em and I'm calling the recordings The Spaces We Find Ourselves In.

Spaces is purely acoustic. Just me and a guitar and some friends on random instruments, no rhythm section though. The entire recording is just gonna be in my condo (we're locking the playstation away) and it's going to be very very raw. Sparse, is the right word for it, if any. Most of the songs I chose to include in spaces, I wrote towards the end of recording CLS and well, I guess I can say that the themes are more...hopeful. It could be why it never made the final cut for the (sad and emo) album.

Me and some friends are already recording it, it comes out for FREE this January 2011. Photos by Kelvin Uy
